Yudkowsky is all over most of those questions. In the interview below he talks explicitly about how AI might kill us all. (See the sections on "protein folding" and "deadly stuff.") It's a sci-fi scenario, which is another reason why it's dismissed, but that's what the prospect of superintelligence brings before us.
Game theory is a meta-explanation of morality, whereas the issue in the article is the first-order analysis of the morality of developing AGI. Philosophy is certainly fit to address first-order moral questions.
