You're talking about in-groups and out-groups. But what would it be like to write for every single person at once, to try to please everyone rather than making enemies and wearing that opposition as a badge of honour? If you try to please everyone, chances are what you're saying is bland, platitudinous, and not worth reading.
I actually think that Wildfire and Umair Haque are exceptions because they try to appeal to a minority by attacking the bulk of society. The platitudes and feel-good propaganda are what tend to be most popular because they affirm the delusions and prejudices of the majority who prefer not to be challenged.
