You're just arguing by assertion.
Capitalism was supposed to be progressive, in that the liberation of the peasants and merchants was supposed to elevate them as a middle class. Equality of opportunity would improve the living standard of everyone and empower the majority, which would differ from the traditional feudal systems in which the minority ruled as royalty. The irony is that capitalism generates monopolies that terminate competition for the rich and meddle with the democratic power of the majority. Inequality in the US went through the stratosphere when capitalism was weakly regulated, as during the Gilded Age and the neoliberal one that started in the 1980s. To tame capitalism, you need a socialist government, like in the Scandinavian countries, one that aids the middle and lower classes so they don't get left behind by the wealthy elites.
