You say, “We don’t really feel that these days, do we? We have become so institutionalised and used to our comfort that we no longer know pain, real pain and suffering,” and “our modern, normal everyday life is way too painless and it separates us from the truth of life, which is pain and tragedy.”

Does that imply that you’re opposed to the modern progress that’s due to secularism (science, humanism, democracy, capitalism) and that often happened despite religions that preferred to settle for regressive dogmas and fairy tales?

Also, what kind of God would create life, the truth of which is “pain and tragedy”? Are you sure that God deserves to be worshipped?

You serve in the military, but have you sold all your possessions to forgo those vanities of secular progress? If you were sick, would you avoid seeking a modern doctor? Or is some hypocrisy baked into Christianity these days?
