You don't think modernity (liberal progress, human rights, secular humanism, etc) is counter to the social default that was practically universal in the ancient and medieval worlds (monarchy, feudalism, imperialism, theocracy, patriarchy, xenophobia, slavery, social stagnation, and mass ignorance and illiteracy)?
