Yes, there are libertarian principles that sound liberal, but then there's the refusal to learn from capitalism's downside. So while the libertarian would restrict the government's powers, to maximize individual freedom, the libertarian has no remedy for the consequent accumulation of immense power by billionaires and monopolies, since the libertarian falls for the neoclassical economist's hype about capitalism, according to which this is a self-correcting mechanism. I view libertarians as liberals who haven't learned from their mistakes, so the effect of their policies is comparable to the retrograde impact of conservative policies. Both end up being neofeudal.
