Yes, it's a step towards objective truth, but not towards Truth, as in noumenal Truth which is likely beyond our grasp.

Suppose a sexist man steals money from the woman he objectifies, and he gives it to his buddy. That's like how we benefit each other with scientific objectification--at the great expense of nature and especially of the other animal species.

So the analogy seems solid to me. I know it's unpleasant, and I admire science and am awestruck by secular progress. But I'm ambivalent about it.
