Yes, a religion’s effects are different than the contents of its scriptures. I don’t address here the historical impact of Islam.

Islam is indeed meant to be a reaction to Judaism and Christianity, a restoration of the original essence of monotheism that got lost along the way. So what I’m saying is that if that’s so, Islam affords us the chance to assess monotheism itself.

What should we make of monotheism, gives the crystal-clear themes of the Quran?
