Yeah, people living in medieval Europe had the freedom of choosing between being Catholic Christians and being anathematized, demonized, and potentially tortured and burned at the stake as heretics or witches. And you want to equate that "freedom" with modern freedom of thought, with societies in which no one's punished for disagreeing with the government or with any religion. And I'm not supposed to laugh at that sophistry?
