Yeah, I'm not opposed to learning from biology about the conditions of morality's evolution. But contrary to Sam Harris's scientism, I don't think any scientific model entails moral conclusions. Some philosophy would be baked into the science, and the philosophy in question would amount to art that spurs us to take an existential leap of faith. Ultimately, morality is about the imposition of the ideal onto the real. What justifies that imposition? Humanist faith in ourselves and disgust towards the inhuman.
