Yeah, I'm not familiar with Wyatt. The notion that the flood story should be taken literally is ludicrous on its face, though. This reminds me of the astrotheologians who say the Bible is all about ancient aliens. You'd think these readers on the TV show "Ancient Aliens," for example, were being more critical, but their superficial way of reading the Bible is just as naive and as ignorant as the fundamentalist's.
Indeed, it does come down to how we should read "scriptures," and Christians make a hash of it by insisting on the anti-spiritual hermeneutic of literalism.
