"Wounded healer" reminds me of how shamans thought of themselves as necessarily wounded by their experience with the psychedelic drugs, and by their contact with transcendent matters that alienated them from mundane social life. This fits into what I say about the ancient cold war between intellectual elites and the less reflective masses.
