Wokeness is identified with the younger generations, so it's amusing that the Democratic leaders, Sanders, Warren, and Biden, are all so very old. As young as many of Bernie's fans were, there was evidently some distance between them and their leader because Bernie wasn't one of them. The oldsters can only pretend to be "woke," because old people are uncool and wokeness is a fad.

When you say that woke culture shouldn't impact politics, that's like saying fundamentalist Christianity shouldn't do so either. The Christian cult did capture much of the Republican Party, and it's possible that Wokeness will capture younger Democratic politician. Mind you, the progressive "squad" in the Senate hasn't done much apart from signal their virtue.
