Who says Paul knew anything about the historical Jesus? The evidence we have suggests otherwise since he says he got all his info on Jesus from scriptures and from a vision of the risen Christ.

Paul may have been a wild character, but he was more specifically the archetype of Christian preachers, including televangelists. He was a salesman, a propagandist who admitted he lies to get the job done (Rom. 3:7, 1 Cor. 9:19-23, 2 Cor. 12:16).
