When you say, “ What matters is that healthy relationship between the emotions driving you on and the paths and patterns it takes on. Like riding a wave,” that sounds Daoist to me, and I can see how it clashes with my existentialist take on things. Indeed, this would be a good subject for my article here, exploring this clash of perspectives.

The sticking point is when you say, “Everything not only ties together, towards that infinity, but often things cancel out, like opposite sides of political debates.” The question is whether that canceling out or equilibrium has normative force, and if so whether it’s positive or negative. I think the equilibrium (at the end of time, etc) is amoral, which makes it monstrous in Lovecraft’s cosmicist sense.
