Well, those may be famous last words. Much of the damage done by Trumpism is intangible, in that it's helped tarnish liberalism's mystique, and thus fed the global backlash against liberalism and the rise of autocracy.

The US Constitution's checks and balances are creaky since they're outdated. The government is also run on unwritten norms that Trump's flouted. There's the letter of the law and then there's its spirit.

It's still entertaining in that there's much to learn from so stark a political development. The whole thing is also ripe for satire. I just wish Philip Seymour Hoffman was still around to play Trump in movies.
