Well, this shows that the upshot of scientific theories, by itself, is very close to nihilism. Scientific objectivity is inherently nihilistic and even dehumanizing, because it reduces things to their parts and lays out their blueprints, as it were.

The question is whether the scientific perspective is the only one that has cognitive validity. If it is, it takes priority over our subjective values and purposes, the latter turning out to be illusions of some sort. And that's essentially nihilism.
