Well, there's certainly a natural life cycle for spiders, just as there is for humans. But there are also mutants or anomalous specimens, especially in our more liberated, flexible species. Hence the class divisions, including the division between the unreflective mob and the more enlightened and typically alienated individuals.

You seem to be arbitrarily distinguishing between philosophy and relative truth or enlightened skepticism. It's arbitrary what we want to call "philosophy." Modern, professional philosophy is narrower than the ancient kind, which included more of a lifestyle bordering on a religion.
