Well said. I'd add the sociological point that economists have little incentive to emphasize the relevance of morality because morality is largely subjective, whereas economists are notorious for wanting to seem as scientific as possible. So they abstract from morality and focus on supposedly objective subject matters, the quantifiable kinds that are mathematically tractable, to burnish their academic reputation.
