Well, pure or perfect rationality/calculation may not be so natural, but the human brain did evolve to process data with great intelligence. We do have natural ways of thinking that are more logical than reactive instincts. But yes, our most elevated ways of thinking aren't necessarily grounded in intuitions or ordinary experience. If anything might save us from tribalism, though, I think it might be the need to reckon with our universal, existential condition.
