Well, philosophers, theologians,, and artists are supposed to be the ones who pull the areas of knowledge together and tell the bigger story. That's what I'm trying to do with these articles, for example. I have a follow-up article coming out soon that goes more into the civilizational response to pantheism.

I think the disjointedness you're talking about gets at the question of reduction. Are we extentions of natural processes or emergent anomalies? If the latter, we can rule ourselves with "supernatural" or anti-natural laws (as in social or moral expectations), but the price we pay for that dualism is alienation from the rest of nature, from the wilderness we block out of our artificial habitats.
