Well, I suspect the sociopathy of many of our leaders is a natural phenomenon, in that those traits would have been useful in the hunt for wild animals, and in driving prehistoric clans to endure despite some horrendous conditions, such as in the ice age or in the early centuries of agriculture when there were droughts and when effective slavery was introduced. As alienated as civilization is from the wild, some natural elements sneak through our filters.
