Well, I agree that consciousness is mysterious, although it does seem to depend on or at least to be processed by the brain. If spirit/consciousness is about being, what’s the opposite of that? Alienation? Not being in the sense of not being “present” in each moment? You might be interested in this article I wrote on Eckhart Tolle’s kind of mysticism.
