Well, alienation is subjective in that it depends on the subject's perspective. So the question is whether alienation is wise and honourable or foolish and pointless. And the answer to that depends on what we should be doing with our life.

However, the disunities between life and nonlife, and between personhood and animality aren't so subjective. The emergence of autonomous patterns in nature is quite real and scientifically explicable.
