We do get locked into algorithmic lifestyles on social media. I like to detox sometimes by taking breaks specifically from watching the news. I always feel better by the end of those breaks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "collective" species. Do you egalitarian, non-hierarchical ones? Ants have hierarchies or quasi-feudal social structures. I think baboons also have dominance hierarchies.
