Walter Kaufmann's chapter on Heidegger in Discovering the Mind vol. 2 is pretty devastating. It's not that everything Heidegger said is false, but that he needlessly overcomplicated matters, as Ichazo seems to say, too. And Heidegger did so because he was stuck between Christianity and Nietzschean atheism, or maybe he was just a bad writer. But Kaufmann's point is that the writing style speaks to the quality of the writer's mind.

I'll take a look at that book on religious consciousness.
