Those all seem like very plausible factors, and they're consistent with what I'm saying here. Any hypothesis can be dismissed if it's strawmanned. I said explicitly in the article that climate can't possibly be the only factor, which means it's not sufficient, and that every social pattern has a plethora of causes. (I simplify the point in the title, as is customary to attract readers.) Here I'm just spotlighting one that's been overlooked. How else would hot or cold climates contribute to culture and politics? That's what I'm trying to fill out. And this article is the first in a series.
