These articles on atheism I've been writing are in contrast to theism, not so much to the sociological, political, historical phenomenon of religion.

And why couldn't we replace the word "God" with "cosmos," "universe," or "nature" in your criticism of religion? Why couldn't we say we're nothing compared to the whole universe, which would be consistent with atheism? What does "God" add to "the whole universe," apart from outdated, childish anthropomorphisms and personifications of the First Cause?
