There is indeed a key similarity there which I thought about as I was writing this article. It's a question of clowning, so another quasi-enlightened character would be the Joker. These are antiheroes or villains who see through society's myths and delusions.

It's just that Deadpool does so in part because he's immortal, so the difference between life and death means nothing to him. That's a little closer to religious enlightenment. Deadpool doesn't bring God into it because he represents secular, transhsuman enlightenment. Deadpool is a god, not just because of his superpower but because his character reflects the mental breakdown that that superpower would likely produce.
