There are two main sexes, male and female, but because of mutations and our symbiotic relationship with ever-evolving cultures, there's potentially a continuity of sexes that would include transsexuals. Whether mixed sexualities would be deemed genders, sexual orientations, or sexes would be a semantic matter. (See the first article below.)
