There are Christian answers to those questions, of course. When you're dealing with myth and theology, logic is hardly the main virtue that's expected. Indeed, the more absurd the scenario, the more it's taken as a sign that something supernatural is going on. As Tertullian said, the more incredible and impossible a claim is, the more it's likely to be true, given that God exists and can perform miracles.
