The Stanford Encyclopedia article acknowledges that many critics do indeed dismiss her writings without reading them. But they do so because she, in turn, dismissed most of philosophy without dealing directly with opposing views.
In any case, I've read "The Objectivist Ethics" and the long speech in Atlas Shrugged, and I watched "Ayn Rand: A Sense of Life." I've written two articles in response, totaling 18 pages. They'll be out in a week or two.
