The real grievances that conservatives have, such as working-class ones about how their government has abandoned them, wouldn't be distinctly conservative. Liberals and progressives are always talking about the need to help the little guy.
I'm talking more about the differences between the two sides, so the question is whether conservatism is distinguished by something genuine or phony.
Elsewhere, I've argued that conservatism is effectively just social Darwinism, so all the rhetoric that hides that fact is disingenuous.
