The question you should consider is whether the Democratic Party as a whole is woke or corporate/centrist. You say the "political left" has gone mad, but that's vague. It's not just the political right that's gone mad, but it's the Republican Party in its entirety that's turned into an apocalyptic, authoritarian cult for Trump. Wokeness hasn't taken over the Democrats to the same degree so the centrist spin is erroneous and lazy.
