The question is whether the oppression (the occupation and the blockade) happened for no good reason, or just because Israel has always been evil and genocidal. The latter is improbable to the point of being ludicrous. Israel blockaded Gaza in response to Hamas's seizing of power, given Hamas's terrorist intentions and bombing of Israel. And Israel occupied the land to secure itself after a defensive war against its neighbours. Israel reacts to the flagrant anti-Judaism in the Arab world. That's the bedrock fact here, not Israeli inhumanity. The Arabs never accepted Israel's right to exist. They've never accepted the two-state solution even when the peace plans were served to them on a platter. That's why the Palestinians are in such trouble: they couldn't take yes for an answer. Too much tribal pride.
