The problem is the one Immanuel Kant pointed out: philosophy can ask questions that go beyond science. So we can look for an absolute explanation of everything, whereas reliable science can supply us with only limited explanations. The problem for atheists is that philosophy leaves room for theology.
But perhaps you should expect to be left in the dark when you barge into other people's conversations and rudely chip in with your irrelevant two cents.
Notice that a humble person, as in someone with no vanity, would have asked a question to clarify something that puzzled him, instead of lobbing insults. But you didn't do that, did you? And I'm supposed to believe you're opposed to vanity?
