The key debate so far between mythicism and historicity is the one between Carrier and Bart Ehrman. Ehrman is a leading expert in the field and a staunch supporter of Jesus's historicity and a denigrater of the Christ myth theory. And he's the only historicist to recently write a book-length defence of historicity. Carrier replied on his website and in various videos. One of the main weaknesses of Ehrman's defense is that he makes up early sources for the gospels, begging the question.

Anyway, if you read Carrier's book your knowledge on the subject is hardly next to nothing. I don't claim to be an expert in history either.
