The government that helps create monopolies has been captured by capitalism, due to lobbying, the revolving door between the public and private sectors, the neoliberal culture in higher education, the campaign contributions from big donors, and so on. You seem to be operating under a mythical, libertarian notion of capitalism, according to which capitalism solves all problems and regulates itself. History indicates otherwise.
