That's the eclecticism (lack of consensus or of an overarching macroeconomic theory) at work then. The eclecticism hides the disunity and its cause (politicization), though. Economists can say that instead of being politicized and thus not wholly scientific, they're just so openminded that they love to test a wide variety of models. It sounds like spin to me.
