That's the conflict I'm getting at. There's a tension between philia and eros, between spiritual or moral brotherly love or camaraderie, and the exclusive, animal, sexual drive.

The question is what would be holding up the utopia. If it's a spiritual sense that we're all in this together, there would be little psychological room for forming exclusive emotional bonds.
