That's sort of the point I was trying to make about the honourific sense of "capitalism." It's just whatever economy is "modern" and "progressive."

Of course, critics would have the burden of proof, but that's beside the point. The question is why we can't easily imagine capitalism being superseded by some other system. It's a psychological or sociological question.
