That's exactly right. And unfortunately, the ordeal isn't over. I'll be adding another postscript because the book got two case numbers (one for the paperback edition and one for the eReader one), and only the paperback has so far passed the review process even though the books' contents and the documentations I submitted to prove I hold the copyright are identical.

I did some digging on Google, and it seems the review process at Amazon might be largely automated, meaning that it's mostly algorithms that are doing the "reviews," with humans getting involved and signing their names to some of the emails only to check over those AI "judgments."

Thus, entering the review process is like walking into a casino. Evidently, you might just as well flip a coin to see whether your book will pass the content review. Ironically, then, it might be just algorithms deciding on these issues of personal identity.
