That's a strawman attack. I said that everything can be viewed as comically absurd from a detached standpoint, which Thomas Nagel calls the "view from nowhere." I didn't say everything is simply absurd, so I made no such blanket nihilistic statement. I said there's likely an enlightened, transhuman perspective that sees through all delusions, including the myths that keep us happy and comfortable.
Meaning is supplied by certain perspectives and mental projections, and if you take the latter away, the meaning goes too. The objective, inhuman reality of nature is monstrous from a humanizing, anthropocentric perspective. That's the perspective your theistic religion presupposes. You humanize the universe by turning it into an artifact of an intelligent creator.
