That's a nicely written metaphor, but it's specious, isn't it? The music itself is whatever the composer writes, and you're comparing Paul's epistles to the performance of that music, whereas for Protestants and Evangelicals especially (who are among the most obnoxious Christians against whom my article was written), the Bible is the music, not the performance. The Bible is the script, the notes on the page that remain unchanged throughout all the churches, sermons, and Christian interpretations.

So the question is whether we should discard Christianity, not because of a mere bad performance, but because its music itself (i.e. its scripture) is atrocious.
