That's a good point. In trying to appeal to the broadest possible audience, the political speaker would have to dilute the message and use bland phrases to avoid offending anyone. This would average out in empty, hackneyed slogans and the like.

But this is consistent with what I'm saying since in avoiding offending anyone, the politician would be assuming that none of the constituents is correct, or that if some segment of the public is correct in its views, the truth is less important than the politician's saving face for the misinformed segments. Salesmanship would still take precedence over truth.
