That sounds eerily plausible except for one point: she did her about-face before I had the chance to debate her, so it couldn't have been after she realized she'd met someone who can debate. What she had to go on is my article on Shakespeare which she presumably read. If she poked around on Medium, she'd have realized from my hundreds of philosophical articles that I'm not exactly a lightweight. But in that case, why would she have been so arrogant in her comments that effectively initiated a debate?

No, we're forced to conclude, I think, that she fled not because she realized I can debate, but just because she recoiled from the very neutral invitation to debate. What she feared was debate itself (the possibility of being publicly bested), not debate with me. She just wanted to abuse the system, smearing someone with nasty comments, and then fleeing to the next victim.
