That sounds about right to me. It's a question of feeling alienated rather than well-adapted or at home. We can forget the philosophical problems and immerse ourselves in some routine or line or work, but the absurdity doesn't go away because the objective realization is always waiting there as a potential.

Animals can feel alienated too, when they suspect they're in trouble or they're not faring well in their group. Social animals like to be reassured with grooming and the like. Of course it's the same for humans, except that we're more prone to realizing the absurdity of what we're doing because our big brain enables us to be more objective (with abstract thought).
