That comment is certainly ad hominem but it's also irrelevant to this article. I'm saying, on the contrary, that nature is great enough to speak for itself, so theists insult God by expecting miracles, because that implicitly insults God's handiwork.
If you're insinuating that I'm only making this argument for personal reasons, that would be the genetic fallacy. The argument is either sound or it's not.
But the impetus behind my view of nature is the need to explain what we call "human progress." What other species is so driven to transform the wilderness into something else? It's just a big mystery I'm trying to solve.
