Thanks. "Shenanigans" may be understating the problem a little. It's war by other means or simulated, sublimated conflict, and some folks are better fighters than others. We're domesticated so that we don't have to fight any more (the specialized military and police do so for us), so the more barbaric rural zones are likely to be better fighters and therefore superior at the lying, shamelessness, and hypocrisy needed for politics.
