Thanks. I've built up 3 weeks worth of articles, so that over the last couple of years I've had around 12 unposted articles sitting on my computer at all times. I replenish that stock by writing around four articles each week. On certain topics like Christianity, I could almost write these sorts of articles in my sleep. It's just a matter of finding a new angle so I don't bore myself.
I distinctly remember, though, when I was an undergraduate student being jealous of how easy it seemed for professors to churn out philosophical articles, whereas I struggled to write a good essay. Or rather, I struggled to recognize the flaws in my writing so that I could improve. Some of those professional writings were much more technical than the kinds of articles I'm writing here since they had to be fit for academic journals. But others were pretty much just glorified blog posts, written in a conversational style. But the professional authors made it look effortless since they'd mastered the material and also the language. At will, they could speak in complete, complex sentences, and their first drafts were almost publishable; all they'd need is a polish to correct typos. A couple decades later, I find myself in something like that position I once envied.
